We read the story "Silly Billy" by Anthony Browne. In the story the boy is very worried about all sorts of things, his Grandmother gives him 'Worry Dolls' to ease the worry. Pod 3 decided to make our own 'Worry Dolls' to help us when we are feeling worried. We are going to take them to camp with us to sleep under our pillows.
Welcome to Pod Three's blog! We are a class of new entrant and year 1 students at Hurupaki Primary School. This term we are staring an exciting new journey as a collaborative class with two teachers! Please come and visit us regularly to see what we have been learning about with Mrs Johnsen and Miss Moore. You can also access links to HEAPS of educational games and sites.

Grass Head People
We are learning about the bush in preparation for our upcoming camp. We have planted grass seed into cups to grow hair for our people. We talked all about the process of planting seeds, the parts of a plant and what a plant needs in order for it to grow. We had a lot of fun putting faces on our people!!! Pop in and see how they are growing or keep an eye on here for updates!

Ke te pehea koe? How do you feel?
We have been learning all about different feelings and emotions. Soon we will be fantastic at asking and answering questions about our feelings in Maori as well as in English!

Smarty Pants
We have been reading the story 'Smarty Pants' by Joy Cowley. We loved the story so much and can all read it now! We have made our own smarty pants pictures to go with our stories.
